Vlorë played an instrumental role in Albanian Independence as an epicenter for the founders of modern Albania, who signed the Declaration of Independence on 28 November 1912 at the Assembly of Vlorë.

Afterwards, we transfer to Zvernec Island to visit the monastery located there, one of Albania's oldest monasteries and set in a unique location. At just under 500m long, the pine covered island is set in a lagoon and nowadays connected to the mainland by a wooden walkway.
